About
Welcome to Frank Owen’s Paintbrush, the primary repository of the ire, bile and bellyaching of an embittered and dangerous posse of whinging, overprivileged leftists.
Frank Owen is the hero of that great socialist novel The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists. Employed as a painter and decorator, Frank Owen does his best to educate, agitate and organise his fellow workers.
We are mostly based in South London, but often not. We like Labour, but not everything, or all the time. Tories are despised; Liberals, pitied. Curry gets the thumbs up, as do amusing or intelligent comments.
We represent nobody but ourselves and like all good lefties we are prone to disagreeing with each other from time to time.
Since Keir Hardie fought valiantly for our right to spunk our deranged musings at the world via the Interwebs, we thought we’d give it a shot.

Who is Frank Owen and what’s the meaning of the paintbrush?

Hello Vera! We’ve now included a hint as to who Frank Owen was. Of course whilst he was trying to raise the political consciousness of the workers and help bring about socialism he was also having to deal with his TB-like symptons and making sure that little Frankie Owen his son had enough to eat. Writing this blog is not quite as tough as being Frank Owen!

Nice title for the blog. Wish I’d thought of it but did Tressell ever support the Labour Party? I always got the impression that he thought they were a shower of phoneys.
PS – found the blog via HP sauce
